Dr. Jonathan and Maggie Salgado – Latin Initiatives

Jonathan and Maggie are ordained ministers and psychologists. After more than 40 years of work in institutions of higher education, churches, and organizations of human development in Europe, the United States and Latin America, these last few years they are dedicating their time to work on behalf of the poor, the development and equipment of leaders in Latin America, facilitating international relations to enable social and economic development, and helping families and couples through counseling, support groups, workshops and retreats. They lead small fellowship groups of political leaders, emerging leaders, married couples, and young people in Mexico City, and the cities of San Cristobal and Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital of the state of Chiapas, Mexico, where they live. The Salgados aid in facilitating the works of Young Life (http://www.younglife.org/us) in Latin Countries, and often travel to different countries due to their involvement with the fellowship (Washington D.C.), as well as guest lecturers and speakers for international events. The Salgados have been a part of the Global Initiatives efforts since 1997.
Jonathan holds a Master’s degree in Religion (Point Loma Nazarene University), and a Doctoral Degree in Theology and Counseling Psychology (Claremont Graduate University). Maggie holds the B.A. in Theology (Nazarene Bible College, Colorado Springs) and the M.A. and Doctoral degree in Psychology (Madison University).
The Salgados have two daughters: Marvel Hitson (Denver, CO) and Marshela Salgado (San Diego, CA), they are the proud grandparents of Emilia Joy, and proud parents-in-law of Jim Hitson.
